The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Calcutta high court interim order restraining admissions under the 27 per cent Other Backward Classes quota in post-graduate courses, including in IIMs. The apex court said admissions in post-graduate courses in Central educational institutions will be provisional and will be subject to the outcome of the final order in the matter, pending before it.
A bench, comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice R V Raveendran, however, issued notices to state of Maharashtra, returnable by three weeks, on a petition filed by Ibrahim Musa Chauhan.
