A powerful bomb blast ripped through a crowded market in the restive Khyber tribal region of northwest Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least 20 people and injuring over 30 others, officials said. The bomb was planted in a pick-up truck that was parked at a stand for trucks and buses at the market in Jamrud, one of the main towns of Khyber Agency. All the people sitting in the truck were killed instantly when the bomb went off, witnesses and officials said.

A vehicle of the United States consulate was targeted with a car bomb in Peshawar city in northwest Pakistan on Friday, killing one person and injuring 10 others. The blast occurred in Jamrud Road area of Peshawar on Friday morning, officials said. An armoured SUV from the US consulate bore the brunt of the blast and rammed into an electricity pylon.No American national was seriously injured in the incident, a spokesman of the US embassy in Islamabad said.

A suicide bomber struck a vehicle carrying Pakistani security personnel in the restive Khyber tribal region on Wednesday, killing at least 12 people and injuring eight others. The bomber, who was on foot, was hiding in a roadside market in Jamrud sub-division of Khyber. He detonated his explosive jacket when the vehicle was passing the area, witnesses said. Nine personnel of the Khasadar militia, including an officer, and three civilians were killed in the blast.
