Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee continued to be on ventilation on Saturday with his respiratory track infection remaining a cause of concern, doctors attending on him at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences said. "Vajpayee's condition is stable. His heart is stable but his lungs require support and that is why we are putting him on ventilation," Dr Sampath Kumar, head of Cardiac Thoracic Vascular Sciences of AIIMS, said.
The condition of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences following respiratory infection and fever, was stable on Wednesday. The 84-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party leader was admitted to AIIMS on Tuesday night. He is being given appropriate treatment to deal with complaints of fever and respiratory infection, Dr Sharma said. Vajpayee is also suffering from hypertension and diabetes, he added.
The prime minister is stable, has done his exercises, and has also taken a walk in the corridor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, doctors attending on him said. The prime minister also held discussions with his aides on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is making 'excellent progress' following a successful coronary by-pass surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.The 76-year-old prime minister "continues to maintain excellent progress. This morning he had breakfast with his wife and daughters," PM's media adviser Deepak Sandhu said."Seeing the prime minister's recovery, we have decided to withdraw the ICU status of his room by late afternoon," said Dr K S Reddy.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is recuperating at All-India Institute of Medical Sciences after a successful coronary bypass surgery, will be taken out of the Intensive Care Unit by Wednesday. "He is responding very well to the treatment. Everything is going as per treatment plan.," Dr Ramakant Panda, a specialist of Mumbai's Asian Heart Institute, who led the team of doctors during the surgery, told PTI.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's coronary by-pass surgery has been conducted successfully. Dr Singh was moved into the Intensive Care Unit at 8:55 pm, doctors told media persons, adding that the prime minister's family was being briefed about his health. It is learnt that Dr Singh is responding well to medication and is expected to regain consciousness on Sunday.
