The International Monetary Fund expects India's economic growth rate to moderate to 7.5-7.75 per cent this fiscal, from 8.5 per cent in 2010-11, on account slowing investments and sluggish global recovery.

India's forex reserves jumped $1.63 billion to $618.94 billion for the week ended January 12, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Friday. In the previous reporting week, the overall reserves had declined sharply by $5.89 billion to $617.3 billion. The country's forex kitty had reached an all-time high of $645 billion in October 2021.

So far this fiscal, the reserves have increased $55.72 billion, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In the previous reporting week ended December 29, the reserves rose $2.759 billion to $623.2 billion, the highest so far this fiscal.
