It was chaos all around at the Chennai Central Railway Station as passengers ran out of the Guwahati-Bangalore Express in panic soon after the two bombs went off in the coaches of the train.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday condemned the Chennai blasts, saying such "barbaric acts" highlight the "desperation and cowardice" of those responsible and asserted that no efforts would be spared in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The Central Industrial Security Force on Thursday issued alert across all domestic and international airports in the country to step up security at these facilities in the wake of the Chennai blasts.
