Defending champions Australia routed Netherlands 7-2 to top the standings in the Champions Trophy hockey tournament in Melbourne on Sunday.
A last minute penalty-corner conversion by V Raghunath salvaged a 2-2 draw for India against Australia in the four-nation hockey tournament in Perth on Thursday. India looked destined for their second successive defeat in the competition, after a 1-4 drubbing at the hands of South Korea on Wednesday, before Raghunath saved the day.
Hockey Australia announced a strong 18-member team for the World Cup, in Monchengladbach, Germany, from September 6 to 17.
They beat Fiji 26-0 in a World Cup qualifying match at Suva, Fiji on Thursday.
Jaime Dwyer scored a brace as the Olympic champions and holders won the Azlan Shah Cup hockey match 8-3.
