While Indians were found to have the greenest food habits on account of less meat consumption and high consumption of fruits and vegetables, Brazilian topped in the category of housing because they typically have smaller homes, rarely use air conditioning or heating, and rely heavily on on-demand, tankless water-heating systems.
Consumers in India care the most for the environment in terms of their day-to-day behaviour with those in the US coming at the bottom, according to National Geographic.As per a study of 14 countries conducted by the National Geographic Society and the international polling firm GlobeScan, India and Brazil have come at the top, jointly.
While 33 per cent Indians favour building new plants, 23 per cent would like the existing ones to continue and are against building new ones.
