Two children were killed when a hand grenade exploded in Gawari village in the hilly Doda district at Jammu on Friday. The children had found the grenade by the riverside and were playing with it when the grenade exploded, said the police. The victims have been identified as Kamran (6) and Mohammad Afzal (12). Thirty five passengers, including six women were killed and seven critically injured when a bus fell into the Chenab river in Kishtwar district on Thursday. The bus, which was on its way from Jammu to Kishtwar, skidded off the road and fell into the river at Kandni-Phagumarh area at around 12.30 pm, said Himant Lohia, the Deputy Inspector general of police, Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar range.
Nine people were killed and 28 injured when a passenger bus fell 350 feet into the Chenab river near Ramban on the Jammu Srinagar national highway on Sunday evening. Sources said that the accident took place when the driver of the bus lost control while maneuvering a curve. A massive rescue and relief operation was launched immediately. The condition of ten of the injured victims is serious, said the police.
