British IT services firm Logica has decided to cut about 1,300 jobs, including nearly 500 in the UK, and move many of them to India, the Philippines and Morocco.Logica-- an IT and consultancy firm -- already has a significant presence in India and has an overall staff strength of 39,000.
British Telecom of the UK is considering a low-powered global system for mobile communications service in India, which can bring down the costs significantly on calls made by mobile phones inside offices.
In India BT is working on a new community project aimed at supporting the developing countries to be a part of the digital society.\n
