Indian men's hockey team national coach Harendra Singh on Tuesday resigned from his post after his side crashed out of the Asian Games final with a 3-4 defeat by Malaysia in the second semifinal in Guangzhou, China.
India beat Malaysia 2-1 in their final league match to set up a championship clash against Argentina at the Azlan Shah hockey tournament.
They were upset 0-3 by Malaysia in their opening match in the second-leg of the four-nation hockey tournament in Sydney.
The sudden spike in cases of fever in India has claimed over 100 lives in five states, including UP, MP, Bihar, Haryana, and West Bengal. In UP, Firozabad and Mathura alone have reported 72 cases.
