Qantas has decided to keep its fleet of A380 superjumbos grounded for at least next 72 hours as investigations continue into the incident of last week's mid-air engine failure that caused a major scare.
A day after Qantas sought to expand its presence in India by code-sharing with Jet Airways, the Singapore-based Jetstar Asia, a regional extension of Qantas, said it is also considering an alliance with the Indian carrier.
According to media reports, Qantas Chief Executive Alan Joyce said the result was unacceptable and the company would slash 5,000 full-time equivalent positions.
