Mahindra United on Thursday fired their coach Derrick Pereira after the team finished fifth in the recently-concluded I-League. The official word from the Mahindra United camp is that Pereira, who served the club for four years, opted out due to some personal reasons.
The IFA, the parent body of the game in West Bengal, has offered the club its membership if it switches allegiance.
The former India defender and coach of Goa's Vasco Sports club replaces Syed Nayeemuddin.
