In the last 75 years, there have been multiple calls for a gender-neutral term for the head of the State and debates over it.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged people to pledge not to do anything that lowers the dignity of women, saying a mentality to insult them in speech and conduct has crept in.
"The hell of being yanked around by police, courts, repeatedly to Goa. The hell of having this case tied to her neck like an albatross. The hell of systematic slander campaigns against her by TT (Tarun Tejpal) and Friends. Her integrity being smeared in court and in social parties," Krishnan said in another tweet.
'Male colleagues are stalking them on social media or sending friend requests, commenting on their pictures when they are not even friends.'
