"On July 28, officials from ICE's Student and Exchange Visitor Programme served UNVA with a Notice of Intent to Withdraw UNVA's authorisation to admit foreign students. UNVA students should call the SEVP Response Centre at 703-603-3400 for guidance," Cori W Bassett, ICE spokeswoman told rediff.com.

Nearly 70 Indian students in the US continue to remain in limbo after Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials raided the University of Northern Virginia and the Customs and Immigration Service subsequently rejected their transfer applications. Their attorney and counsel Sheela Murthy says that she has now advised them to file a class-action suit against the university.
About 70 Indian students at the University of Northern Virginia, which was raided last month by agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcementthe investigative arm of the department of homeland securitymet with Ambassador Arun Kumar Singh, Charge d'Affaires at the Indian embassy in Washington D C who assured them that the government of India and the embassy will "continue with their efforts to try and ensure that the students at UNVA are not victimised in any way."
