Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir initiated extensive search operations along the International Border and Line of Control in Samba and Rajouri districts following multiple overnight sightings of suspected Pakistani drones. The increased drone activity has prompted concerns over potential air-dropping of narcotics, weapons, or facilitation of infiltration, leading to heightened surveillance and anti-drone measures.

Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants, who infilterated into India from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, were arrested by security forces in Poonch district, and two AK rifles, two magazines, 65 rounds were also recovered from them, official sources said on Fri.
"We have lodged a strong written protest with the Pakistan authorities over small arms firing by them on an Indian position in Tarkundi forward sector on Saturday," a senior defence officer told PTI after a meeting of the company commanders of the two sides at Tatapani along the LoC in Poonch district.
