Powered by S Raleng's hat-trick, Services on Thursday thumped Bengal 4-1 to qualify for the Santosh Trophy National football championship final after a 39-year hiatus.
Last year's runners-up Services held on to a Laldingliana penalty to beat fancied Maharashtra 1-0 in a Group B quarter-final league match of the 63rd National Football Championship, for the Santosh Trophy, at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, in Chennai on Wednesday.
Punjab are almost assured of a semi-final berth in the Indian Oil Santosh Trophy football championship after Services shocked 29-time winners Bengal 2-1 on Sunday.
