The SIT has summoned the district president of fringe right-wing outfit Sri Ram Sene.
Three persons, including a lawyer, have been arrested in connection with the murder of RTI activist and whistle-blower Satish Shetty at Talegaon near Pune. A court on Saturday remanded the trio, which was arrested late on Friday night, to ten days police custody till January 25. Vijay Dabhade, the lawyer, and his accomplices Pramod Waghmare and Parshuram Telegu, who were arrested for giving a contract to kill Shetty, were produced before a court at Wadgaon Maval.
"No one questioned the Congress government's failure. Instead, they are asking why is Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi silent and not speaking on Gauri Lankesh's death. Many wanted PM Modi to react after Gauri Lankesh's death. Why should Modi react if some dog dies in Karnataka?"
On Pravin's plea, the court also asked the jail authorities to provide the accused with all the periodicals and newspapers prescribed in the jail manual.
His plea for psychiatric tests has been rejected.
'You don't want to admit that it is your wife in the video because she said you were arrested on Wednesday (August 19; Shyamvar Rai states he was arrested on August 21, a Friday).'
