A Pakistani court has directed the police to take action against the driver of a speeding United States consulate vehicle that killed a motorcyclist while rushing to aid American official Raymond Davis, arrested after he gunned down two men in Lahore.
Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Ijaz of the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court issued the notices on Monday asking Musharraf and others to respond by the second week of November. The court was asked to direct the filing of an FIR against Musharraf, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Babar Awan, former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, former Intelligence Bureau chief Ejaz Shah and former caretaker interior minister Hamid Nawaz Khan.
One woman passenger was killed and two fight stewards injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a Pakistan International Airlines flight while landing at the Peshawar airport late Tuesday night.
