Kashyap, seeded 14th, beat Malaysian Chun Seang Tan 21-16, 22-20 in 30 minutes, while seventh seed Chetan defeated Kay Bin Yeoh 21-16, 21-16 in a 26-minute first round encounter.
Malaysian shuttlers Tan Chun Seang and Zulfadli Zulkiffli have received 15- and 20-year bans after being found guilty of offences relating to "betting, wagering and irregular match results", Badminton World Federation (BWF) said on Wednesday.
