Two persons were seriously wounded in a powerful hand grenade explosion in the Magarmal Bagh locality of Srinagar on Wednesday evening. Police said militants lobbed a hand grenade at a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force bunker near Magarmal chowk on Wednesday evening which exploded injuring two civilian bystanders.
Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday started the process of removing 16 security bunkers from Srinagar city as part of the Centre's peace initiatives to reach out to the people of the Valley.
There have been at least six grenade attacks in Kashmir valley, including one at the residence of ruling Peoples Democratic Party MLA Mushtaq Shah, since Friday.
