The Bombay HC also sought details from the Maharashtra government.
'We are also Maharashtrians. We are all proud Maharashtrians. But we don't go and break someone's house'
The Maharashtra government on Friday told the Bombay high court that the state-run hospitals in Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar which recently saw a spurt in patient deaths faced a heavy inflow of extremely critical patients from private hospitals.
During the questioning, the bench noted that in cases of similar illegalities in buildings close to Ranauts, the BMC had waited for several days to carry out the demolition.
The court appointed an assessor to evaluate the damage caused so as to decide Ranaut's claim for compensation. The high court also came down heavily on Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut over his tirade against Ranaut.
