A new exhibition at the 9/11 Memorial Museum explores the untold story of the greatest manhunt in United States history revealed through declassified artefacts and an immersive digital experience. The chilling exhibit, "Revealed: The Hunt for Bin Laden," centres on the decade-long search for and seizure of the Al Qaeda mastermind who was responsible for the deaths of 2,977 people on 9/11 -- and the thousands more lost through bloody wars and debilitating illness. The exhibit presents the hunt for bin Laden as a sort of who-done-it come alive with graphics, videos and the voices of the protagonists, from intelligence agents, former US President Barack Obama and members of the US Navy SEALs team that raided bin Laden's home and shot and killed him.
Khan's statement is significant because Pakistan had so far denied that it had any information about the hideout of Osama before he was killed in a covert raid by a US Navy SEAL team in Abbottabad, a garrison town north of Islamabad, on May 2, 2011.
Barack Obama has said that he had ruled out involving Pakistan in the raid on Osama bin Laden's hideout because it was an "open secret" that certain elements inside Pakistan's military, and especially its intelligence services, maintained links to the Taliban and perhaps even al-Qaeda, sometimes using them as strategic assets against Afghanistan and India.
Despite some fairly amazing performances, not only does Lone Survivor fail to engage the audience but it also seems conflicted about whether it wishes to honour the immense bravery of four individuals or whether it wishes to prove the US's decision of interfering in Afghanistan correct, writes Paloma Sharma.
