Ooty in South shivers at 0 degrees Celsius

Udhagamandalam, popularly known as Ooty, and Sandynallah recorded zero degree Celsius on Friday, affecting normal life in the hill town. Many parts of Udhagamandalam and nearby areas were covered with frost, and water stored in containers froze. The extreme cold forced people to stay indoors, with roads deserted and people seen lighting fires to keep warm.
