Tata Motors on Thursday said it has filed 250 patents and 148 design applications, its highest-ever in a single year, in FY25. The filings encompass a broad spectrum of product and process innovations, aligning with key automotive megatrends such as Connectivity, Electrification, Sustainability, and Safety (CESS), as well as emerging technologies like hydrogen-based vehicles and fuel cells, the Mumbai-based auto major said in a statement.
Homegrown auto major Tata Motors on Tuesday said it has received 98 patents last year under its accelerated drive for engineering excellence and innovation. These patents predominantly relate to the megatrend of CESS (connected, electrified, sustainable and safe) automobiles, the company said in a statement. The patents also encompass an eclectic mix of improvements in automotive electronics, noise vibration and harshness, conventional and advanced powertrain systems, and crash safety under various categories of industrial designs, copyrights and notarisations, the statement added.
The new engine features the Westport WP580 Engine Management System and is designed to support various configurations.
A digital configurator comprising a three-dimensional graphics-based app will allow customers to choose specifications and align the output generated by the tool to company's back-end manufacturing.
