India captain Mithali Raj's excellent show in the three-match series against England has helped her grab the No.1 position in the MRF Tyres ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings for the eighth time in her stellar 22-year international career.
The 22-year-old played a crucial role in India's semi-final appearance at the ICC Women's World T20 in the West Indies, scoring 178 runs in five matches at a strike-rate of 125.35.
Shafali Verma has enjoyed a breakthrough ICC Women's T20 World Cup with the bat but her off-the-field impact has not been lost on captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Verma has scored 161 runs at a stunning strike rate of 161 in Australia, setting the tone for India's four Group A victories with fearless batting despite being in her first global tournament.
Deepti is currently placed second on the MRF Tyres ICC Women's ODI Rankings for all-rounders only after Australia's Ellyse Perry. At a young age, she has been an integral part of the Indian team, even finishing as her team's highest wicket-taker at the ICC Women's World Cup 2017, where India lost to England in the final.
