An assistant grade employee of the Madhya Pradesh government was suspended on Thursday on charges of showing 'insensitivity' and being 'negligent' towards an elderly farmer who rolled on the floor of Mandsaur district collectorate to protest alleged land grabbing, an official said.
Police said town inspector of Pipliamandi Anil Singh Thakur has been removed from field duties in connection with the firing on farmers.
In view of the volatile situation, the Centre rushed 1,100 personnel of anti-riot Rapid Action Force.
Some eyewitnesses alleged that the victims suffered bullet wounds but district authorities denied that there was any firing by police
