Moderate Hurriyat leader Maulana Abbas Ansari says he expected peace talks between India and Pakistan to resume soon.
The moderate Hurriyat Conference will participate in the second round table in Srinagar in May provided it is first called for a one-on-one with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, amalgam sources said Tuesday.
The curbs on assembly of people were put in place in the police station areas of Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Safakadal and Maharaj Gunj in downtown (interior) areas and in Maisuma in Srinagar, as well as in Shopian town.
He said no reduction of forces within the state, could become 'an impediment in the peace process.'
The meeting presided over by APHC chairman Moulvi Mohammad Abbas Ansari is being attended by all senior members, including executive members Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Abdul Gani Bhat and Bilal Gani Lone, Hurriyat sources said.
Geelani was to visit the residence of four youths on Thursday to express sympathy and solidarity with them.
"But you have to be careful because the Indian government will never like a solution where it has to totally compromise on Kashmir," Hurriyat chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said.
The Hizbul Mujahideen chief said he could not back their peace moves or any future Kashmir solution unless hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was taken on board, local media reported.
The hardline faction of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, however, said it was no permanent solution to the Kashmir issue.

Pakistan was always sincere in resolving the Kashmir issue, but India had to give up its 'stubbornness', a Pakistan minister said.
The Mirwaiz said barring the opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road, the Centre had taken no positive step to build the confidence of the people.
However, he said the Centre needed to fulfil its previous commitments.
"What is the point of holding discussion with the government to government level by New Delhi?" askeed the Mirwaiz.
In a surprise move on Wednesday, Hurriyat chairman Moulavi Abbas Ansari quit and handed over charge to the Mirwaiz.

Suggestions from certain quarters, including Pakistan and the United States, about having "self-rule" in Jammu and Kashmir would also figure in the talks with Musharraf, he said.
"We wanted to meet the Indian and Pakistani leaders," he said, adding, "The Pakistan High Commission has invited us to meet Musharraf but there has been no positive response from Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's office as yet."
The meeting was called to finalise the agenda for APHC's talks with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Hurriyat's Mirwaiz said Mufti has exposed his game plan by rushing to New Delhi to sort out the matter.
Centre's pointsman N N Vohra is visiting Kashmir next week to attend the Indo-European Union round table conference in Srinagar and is likely to meet Hurriyat Conference leaders during his three-day stay.
Sources said the visit was likely to take place in the second week of December as the Mirwaiz was scheduled to attend two Organisation of Islamic Conference meets.
A day ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Jammu and Kashmir, mainstream parties as well as separatists organisations were on the same page asking him to restart the dialogue process with Pakistan in finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir issue.

Mehbooba was addressing a joint press conference with Omar Abdullah and Hurriyat Conference Chief Mirwaiz Umer Farooq on the sidelines of the Hindustan Times Summit.
The decision to release these persons had been taken on October 3 in pursuance of the talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference in September.
