South Africa captain Grame Smith won the toss and elected to bat against India in the Super Eights match of the ICC World Twenty20 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on Tuesday.
Contracted and domestic Indian players are not allowed to participate in any other T20 leagues except the IPL, and it remains a contentious issue.
