The Bombay high court on Wednesday said it does not pay heed to remarks made by political leaders and others against the judiciary and remarked that the shoulders of the court are broad enough and as long as the court's conscience is clean, people can say whatever they want to.
In a judgment pronounced on Wednesday, a bench of Justices R D Dhanuka and V G Bisht allowed the plea filed by a 66-year-old woman challenging a family court order that held only parties to a marriage could challenge the validity of the marriage.
Rana was elected from Maharashtra's Amravati Lok Sabha seat in 2019. She is an Independent MP backed by the NCP.
