Marion Bartoli overwhelmed an out of sorts Sabine Lisicki 6-1, 6-4 on a sun-drenched Centre Court to win her first Wimbledon title on Saturday.
Russia's Vera Zvonareva beat Marion Bartoli of France 6-3, 6-0 in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in Melbourne on Tuesday to reach her first Grand Slam semi-final. Bartoli made a bright start, opening up a 3-1 lead in the first set, but Zvonareva won the last 11 games in a row to seal a comprehensive victory in 68 minutes.
