The growing rumours that Jose Mourinho will be the next manager of Manchester United were further fuelled by a throw-away remark from Inter Milan dignitary Bedy Moratti on Saturday. The Portuguese's name has been increasingly linked by the media with the job amid the struggles of incumbent Louis van Gaal to win over the United faithful. The speculation was sent spinning into overdrive when Moratti, sister of former Inter president Massimo, let slip to reporters after a meeting with Mourinho that the former Chelsea boss "is going to Manchester". Mourinho was in Milan to watch Inter take on Sampdoria amid reports in Italy that he might be interested in a return to the club he steered to Champions League glory in 2010, a suggestion he was quick to deny. After Mourinho had visited former employer Massimo Moratti and his family for lunch, Bedy, filmed in a video interview with Calcio Mercato, said: "It was pleasant. He's still fantastic. He's been missed on a human level.
Jose Mourinho says he is in the dark about a possible switch to Manchester United but that he hopes to be back in football this summer. The Portuguese, who was sacked as manager by Chelsea in December despite winning the English title last year, has been heavily tipped by British media to take over from current United head coach Louis van Gaal in June but he was coy when asked by students at Singapore's North Light secondary school. "That's the one million dollar question and nobody knows and I'm the first one not to know," Mourinho replied to the young United fan who asked if he would be heading to Old Trafford for next season. "The reality is I like football so much and I miss football so when I get the chance to come back I will come back but I have to wait to see what happens." Asked by a Chelsea-supporting student to look back on his experience and two spells with the London club, Mourinho had mixed feelings.
