On September 7, the Alwar police charged three men linked to the murder of Rakbar Khan.
Hawaldar (retd) Ashok Chauhan, on a fast-unto-death since August 18 over the non-implementation of the One Rank, One Pension scheme, was taken to the army hospital on Tuesday after his health deteriorated, in what is the second such case in as many days.
An FIR has been lodged against former cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh, senior IAS officer Navneet Sehgal and two others for allegedly threatening a litigant in the Taj corridor case. "The FIR was lodged with the Hazratganj police station against former cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh, Navneet Sehgal, founder of Amity University Ashok Chauhan and former MLA Ajay Pratap Singh alias Lalla Bhaiya on a complaint filed by Anupama Singh," said an officer.

Notwithstanding "advice" from Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to put off their stir, a third veteran on Tuesday joined the fast-unto-death by ex-servicemen as part of the agitation to press for implementation of 'One Rank One Pension' scheme.
The development came after a nearly two-hour long meeting was held between representatives of ex-servicemen and Army chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag.
"BJP leaders are playing the game at the behest of central leaders. MLAs were offered money... Rs 10 crore in advance and Rs 15 crore after the government is toppled," the chief minister alleged and added that the BJP wants to convert the state's politics into a goat market, 'bakra mandi'.
Another veteran Havildar Saheb Singh (retired) took his place and began the fast-unto-death.
Chikungunya cases in the national capital have sharply risen to over 1,000 this season.
