The bookings of the new vehicle, named Innova Crysta opened on Monday and deliveries will begin from May 13, 2016.
Toyota has capacity to manufacture 310,000 vehicles at its two plants located near Bengaluru
The company says if the ban on diesel vehicles continues, around 13% of its sales will be hit.
"We see high market potential with growing population of Indian middle class families aspiring for more advanced features like safety, space, luxury and comfort," Toyota Kirloskar Motor's MD Akito Tachibana told reports at the Auto Expo in Greater Noida last week.
