Dutchman Abdi Nageeye survived a tense battle through the final mile to win the New York City Marathon in two hours seven minutes and 39 seconds on Sunday
Eliud Kipchoge confirmed his status as the Greatest Marathoner of the 21st Century by winning a second Olympic Marathon, only the third runner in history to do so.
The World record holder has now won four Olympic medals overall, having also taken 5,000m silver in 2008 and bronze in 2004.
