Wrestling legend Lila Ram passes away

Legendary wrestler and Arjuna awardee Lila Ram died at Charkhi Dadri in Bhiwani district of Haryana on Saturday morning.

The 70 year-old was the first Indian wrestler to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

The Wrestling Federation of India has condoled Lila Ram's death. In a message issued in Chandigarh, WFI president M S Malik described him as the Bhishma Pitamah of Indian wrestling and said the nation had lost a great wrestler.
