On the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terror strike, the Afghan Taliban have requested the international community to urge the United States against continuing the "illegal occupation" of Afghanistan for the War on Terror.

The Taliban have asked the US and its allies to immediately leave Afghanistan. The Taliban have warned that they are in a position to "defeat the invaders" like "Afghans had earlier defeated other superpowers".

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Omer, has sent a message on the occasion of 9/11. The message says, "Every year, 9/11 reminds us of the sad incident when the US attacked the Islami Emirate of Afghanistan, especially when Afghans had no connection with the incident".

'The US has killed innocent Afghans'

"The foreign invaders have so far killed a large number of innocent Afghanis and the killing still continues. The incident happened at a time when Afghan people had just got rid of decades-old bloodshed and peace had just been restored.

"Islami Emirate has always asked for an investigation of the incident (invasion of Afghanistan after 9/11) but so far, no one has paid any heed to this demand. Instead of listening to our demand, the world community supported the US in targeting Afghanistan with weapons of mass destruction, poisonous gases, cruise missiles and other advanced technologies.

"It will always remain a blot over western democracy. The US has killed innocent Afghans including old men, women, children and even numerous infants during this war".

'Afghans have stood resolute against enemies'

"Under the banner of War on Terror, our villages, orchards, agricultural land and even towns were demolished. Even at this moment, US and its allies are targeting residential areas; they have no mercy for innocent people. Many Afghans are still langushing in jails like Guantanamo Bay, Bagraam and Kandahar while some Afghans have been kept at bases like Sheen Dand, Mazaar Sharif, Khost and Ningrahar.

"Many Afghans have succumbed to torture in these cells.  All these inhuman activities have been carried out by people who call themselves the champion of human rights and flag bearers of democracy.

"But these proud Americans should not forget that the Afghans have stood resolute against enemies like rocks and have inflicted many losses on them. The invaders never expected such a response from Afghans and they are still astonished about how the Pashtuns have retaliated".

'Afghans will defeat the Americans'

"Afghans are fully armed with the weapon of Islam (Jihad) and with Pashtunwali (the Pashtun code of conduct). Such weapons are not available with the US or with any of its allies. The enemy could not even imagine combating the Afghans with their sophisticated weapons.

"On the occasion of 9/11, once again, we request the world community to ask the US to not to take illegal possession of Afghanistan's land and its resources under the banner of War on Terror.  The Americans should stop the bloodshed in Afghanistan.

"Remember! After fighting for years, the Afghans are now determined to continue this fight against the Americans. The Afghans would defeat the Americans like other invaders were defeated over Afghanistan".
