A minor fire in Doordarshan's outside broadcast van stationed next to Vigyan Bhavan, the venue of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's press conference, led to a five-minute disruption in the live telecast on Monday.

According to Doordarshan officials, a minor fire broke out in the OB van, which was stationed just outside Vigyan Bhavan.

"There was a small fire, but it was immediately brought under control. There was no major damage. Due to this, the telecast was disrupted for a brief while," a senior DD official said.

The telecast was disrupted for around five minutes just seven to eight minutes after the press conference had started.
