In the wake of 26 members of Legislative Assembly loyal to Y S Jaganmohan Reddy submitting their resignation, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday ruled out any threat to his government saying it would last its full term.

Dismissing suggestions that Jagan is being targeted, the chief minister said the Central Bureau of Investigation probe was initiated on the directions of the Andhra Pradesh high court into the companies invested in firms owned by Jagan.

"If I have to feel threatened I should have been from the day I assumed office. There is no threat to my government. The Congress government will continue till 2014 and even in 2014 we will form the government," he told a press conference in New Delhi.

He was responding to questions on whether they was a threat to his government in the wake of the MLAs resigning to protest the inclusion of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's name in the FIR related to Jagan's case. "My government has a strength of 183 MLAs including allies. There is no threat," he said.

The Congress has a strength of 155 MLAs in the 294-member Assembly.

To a volley of questions that Congress was slowly distancing itself from YSR, the chief minister said Reddy was a senior leader of the party who revived Congress in Andhra Pradesh. "He worked tirelessly for the party. He went public to say that he will try to get maximum numbers and make Rahul Gandhi the prime minister," he said.

Kiran Reddy met Home Minister P Chidambaram and several ministers and discussed issues related to the state with them.
