Scientists of the Indian Space and Research Organisation have proved their mettle once again with the successful launch of India's very own space observatory , Astrosat.

The successful launch of the around Rs 180 crore and 1,513 kg ASTROSAT and placing it in orbit at an altitude of 650 km above the earth on Monday morning would now makes India a member of the select group of nations having its own space observatory after the United States, Japan, Russia and Europe.

ISRO's workhorse, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle now has 30 consecutive successful missions to its name.

Success though has not come by chance, but through the combined brilliance of ISRO's scientists.

Join us in honouring the scientists for their latest feat. Post your messages in the message board below
