A fast track trial court on Thursday framed charges against the six accused in the Tata Institute of Social Sciences gang rape case and will commence recording of evidence against them from January 13.

The six accused -- Vinamra Soni, Harshvardhan Yadav, Jashkaran Bhullar, Anish Borkataki, Dev Colabawala and Kundanraj Borgohain -- have been charged under Section 376 (g) of the Indian Penal Code for gang rape.

The six have been accused of raping a 23-year-old United States national, a student at the TISS in April last year.

Additional sessions judge S D Jagmalani read out the charges to the six accused, who pleaded not guilty. According to the police, the victim was raped at Kundan's flat in suburban Andheri. Kundan is the only accused who is out on bail in the case.
