A Bharatiya Janata Party delegation on Thursday met Central Bureau of Investigation officials in Mumbai in connection with the Adarsh Housing Society scam and filed a complaint against 24 persons.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya said he has submitted with the CBI a 200-page document giving details of the "fraudulent acts" of 11 politicians, including Union Ministers Vilasrao Deshmukh, Sushilkumar Shinde, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, and top bureaucrats.

The former MP claimed that there have been several irregularities in the clearance and construction of the housing society in south Mumbai. The irregularities relate to no objection certificate from authorities, Coastal Regulation Zone, FSI (floor space index) and deviation from commitments made for welfare of defence personnel, he alleged.

The original list of 40 society members had increased to 103 and the reservation of plot was modified from transit camp and parade ground to residential zone, Somaiya said.

The BJP leader said the party had submitted detailed observations and documentary evidences to the CBI, which is looking into the scam in which flats in the society, originally meant for Kargil war heroes, were expanded to include relatives of politicians, bureaucrats and top defence officers.

When contacted, CBI officials said they informed the BJP team that a case regarding the scam has already been registered and investigations were on.
