Smuggled Indian idols to be returned from UK

Six ancient idols of Hindu and Buddhist deities smuggled into the UK will be returned to India.

The statues were confiscated at Heathrow in August last year by UK's Revenue and Customs after suspicions were raised about a shipment arriving from India.

Experts from the British Museum said on Friday they were depictions of Hindu and Buddhist deities created between the 7th and 11th century.
