Would these gals look good opposite SRK?

Alright, so as is the Yash Raj Films tradition, Shah Rukh Khan will act in Yash Chopra's next directorial film. The only hitch is that the filmmaker is in a tizzy over who to cast opposite his in-house hero.

We decided to make Mr Chopra's job easy and play casting agent. We came up with our very own list of heroines, who've never had the chance to romance the actor in the Swiss Alps, or anywhere else.

We start with Katrina Kaif because she's rumoured to be the chosen one.

Despite being amongst the top three female leads, Katrina hasn't been lucky enough to co-star with the Badshah. Too bad. Especially because SRK and Katrina share a warm friendship and meet up quite often socially.

A certain Salman Khan may not agree to the idea but it would indeed be worthwhile to see the King of Romance with the gorgeous beauty. Guess they can bond over discussing their affection for London a city which SRK loves and Kat's spent considerable time in. Expect all things British in this film.

Vidya Balan

He's sophisticated, she's of the sensuous kind. The 'Silk Smitha' may have shaken a leg with her favourite actor in Heyy Babyy but fans of the two stars are looking forward to the day the twain-shall-meet. Will movie magic be born if the two are paired in a trademark Yash Chopra flick?

Given Chopra's penchant for love stories it wouldn't be a tough task to dress Vidya up in those chiffon saris. Considering the chemistry Vidya and SRK shared at FICCI Frames, in the presence of Hugh Jackman, this one's going to make the right noise.

Chitrangada Singh

Her dream, amongst other things, is to flirt with SRK and run around trees in a film before she hangs her make-up kit. Let's pray, for God's sake, that this gifted actress gets a chance-of-a-lifetime before she retires.

There are still many years left for that. For now, the stunning beauty continues to look at the actor as an object of affection and be satisfied with the television commercial she's done with him. Unless someone at YRF thinks Chitrangada-SRK are SRK-Kajol-in-the-making.

Mallika Sherawat

Okay, the sex-bomb that Ms Sherawat is, she has a fat chance to snap up a role in a Yash Raj flick and that, too, with SRK. But look guys, there's no denying that the two would sizzle on screen.

Of course, they wouldn't look a very believable couple because of their wildly different personalities and body of work. Come on, Mallika's no Kajol. But the real advantage is, SRK can flaunt his six-packs and Mallika, her well-toned curves!

Bipasha Basu

Is she a little too big for the modestly-built SRK? Heck, whatever the case, Bips would look hot in the company of King Khan. They could make for a perfect case study of 'opposites attract.'

On screen, of course. While she's dusky and smoking hot, he's handsome (and endorses fairness cream). She's Bengali to his Pathan roots. So, how about getting the two as a mismatched couple, if there's space for one?

Sonakshi Sinha

If the 40-plus Chulbul Pandey can, why can't the King? Sonakshi, who seems to belong to the Salman camp, may not fancy ticking off her debut co-star but like every girl in show-town, she'd love to have SRK steal her thunder.

Karan Johar, it was believed, was keen on getting the 23-year-old daughter of Shatrughan Sinha to act opposite his superstar friend. Let's see who manages that coup first.

Sonam Kapoor

Can they be the DiCaprio-Winslet of Bollywood? Sonam personifies the Indian beauty and since she's not too exposed, having done only four films so far, this could be make for an interesting Jodi the correct blend of experience and freshness.

Does it really matter if SRK is a contemporary of her father, Anil Kapoor? Well, age's just a number, especially for Bollywood's age-proof heroes.

Genelia D'Souza

Star-crossed lovers, anyone? Genelia, who spent half her screen time quibbling with her hero in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, can make for a really cool alternative choice to partner with Shah Rukh.

She can bring in a mad energy epitomised by SRK's one-time heroine, Juhi Chawla. Hey, here's how it can be: would you be interested in SRK-Genelia jodi as the new SRK-Juhi?

Kalki Koechlin

Darling of the middle-of-the-road cinema, the sex kitten from Dev D, she can be trusted with turning up the heat.

But then again, those at Yash Raj may find her too hot to handle. All said and done, Kalki-SRK have the makings of a truly revolutionary couple. About time SRK moves out of his Kajol-zone to experiment with different pairings. What say?

Asin

She's conservative in the old-fashioned way. She won't expose, won't wear a bikini and won't indulge in steamy kisses. She possesses all the qualities of an ideal Yash Raj heroine.

What works in her favour is that she's already worked with the other two Khans, Aamir and Salman. It won't be long before we see SRK courting Asin in his signature, 'Sssss.. Senorita' drawl.
