2011 started pretty well for the Malayalam film industry with Traffic emerging a sensation. Soon to follow are a few high profile films coming your way. Here is a look at a few of them.

Khadama

Director: Kamal

The film's title means a maid in an Arab's home. Kavya Madhavan plays the maid. The film and Kavya's performance have been rated high by former actresses like Manju Warrier and Samyuktha Varma, after a private screening.

Sreenivasan and Biju Menon include the film's cast, but the main focus is on Kavya's character.

Kamal, who has directed several fantastic films in the past, has made this heart wrenching tale based on K Gireesh Kumar's screenplay. The shooting of the film has been done mainly in the Gulf and the visuals by Manoj Pillai are indeed spectacular.

The film releases today.

Director: Shafi

Jayaram plays a makeup man in this film directed by Shafi, based on a script by Sachi and Sethu.

Sheela is the heroine while Prithviraj and Kunchacko Boban are seen in cameos. The film has been on the floors for a while and had to be completed in more than one schedule, due to date issues.

There is some cinema-within-cinema kinds of scenes which should make things even more interesting. Shafi says that we tend to ignore the behind-the-scenes crew members like the makeup men.
