PIX: Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi's Ghanchakkar party

Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi, who star in Raj Kumar Gupta's comedy thriller Ghanchakkar, were at their goofy best at a promotional party organised over the weekend.

The stars arrived at Ramada hotel in Juhu, a western Mumbai suburb, dressed in character, and had quite a few tricks up their sleeves to entertain the gathered fans and media.

Vidya plays a shrill Punjabi housewife to Emraan's forgetful thief husband in the film.

The actor flaunts his horns, party glasses and faux fur.

Produced by UTV's Ronnie Screwvala and Vidya Balan's husband Siddharth Roy Kapur, the film's comic tone and treatment has created quite a buzz.

Director Rajkumar Gupta, who previously made critically acclaimed films No One Killed Jessica and Aamir, does a little jig with his leading lady.

Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan have previously worked together in Milan Luthria's The Dirty Picture.

True to her onscreen character, Vidya -- dressed in a garish kaftan, a bright belt and oversized rings -- strikes a dramatic pose at the party.

The onscreen couple strike a pose outdoors.

The actress looked the part in her blingy sunshades, printed kaftan and shiny high heels.

Ghanchakkar will release on June 28.
