Marvel Comics' latest superhero offering The Avengers will open in Indian theatres next week.

Actress Scarlett Johansson, who plays Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the film, arrived in a floral off shoulder dress for the premiere.

Actor Robert Downey Jr, who plays Tony Stark/Iron Man in the film, arrived solo for the premiere.

Dressed in a black suit and tinted glasses, the actor posed for cameras.

Actress Cobie Smulders of How I Met Your Mother fame plays Maria Hill in The Avengers.

She arrived in a sweeping red gown for the premiere.

Actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the film, arrived with his Spanish actress wife Elsa Pataky.

The couple is expecting their first child together.

Actor Jeremy Renner, who plays Clint Barton / Hawkeye in the film, was also in attendance.

Mark Ruffalo, who plays Dr Bruce Banner/Hulk in the film, arrived at the premiere too.
