The 8th edition of Renault Star Guild awards, held at Yash Raj studio over the weekend in Andheri, a western Mumbai suburb, was marked by Salman Khan's dazzling debut as an awards show host.

While Barfi! and Vicky Donor swept the awards, the red carpet wasn't without its share of high points.

Anushka Sharma stood out in a sari and slick hair even as Vidya Balan put a fresh spin on her favourite garment with an interesting blouse and makeup.

The lovely Barfi! ladies didn't disappoint on the red carpet either.

While Priyanka Chopra sparkled in a Shehla Khan number, Ileana D'Cruz went for a Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Barfi! won eight awards including Best Film, Best Director and Special Female Star of the Year for Chopra.

Salman Khan, who reportedly made a comeback to hosting shows after 24 years, charmed the audience with his talent.

Khan's Dabangg 2 costar Sonakshi Sinha was a picture of elegance in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla outfit as she arrived on the red carpet.

Sridevi, who loved fetching in a Sabyasachi number, was joined by husband Boney Kapoor.

Her much loved comeback film English Vinglish was ignored by the awards even though it won quite a few nods this season.

Ever the pillar of strength for her star daughter Sonakshi, Poonam Sinha was present at the awards.

Hema Malini arrived in an interestingly draped beige sari.

Race 2 hottie Jacqueline Fernandez posed for cameras in a printed Lanvin gown while Huma Qureshi went the ethnic route in a rather overwhelming anarkali.

Abhishek Bachchan, who won the Best Actor in a Comic Role award for Bol Bachchan along side Annu Kapoor (Vicky Donor), joined Karan Johar on the red carpet.

Actor Arjun Kapoor bonded with Prabhu Deva at the awards.

Nautanki Saala costars Ayushamnn Khurrana and Kunal Roy Kapur showed off their histrionics as they arrived to attend the do.

Vicky Donor won five awards including Promising debut and Best Singer (Male) for Khurrana and Best Comic Role, Best Supporting actor for Kapoor.

The Bhatt belles from Murder 3, Sara Loren and Aditi Rao Hydari made their presence felt on the red carpet.

Father-son duo and Student Of The Year costars Kayoze and Boman Irani were at the do too.

Filmmakers and frequent collaboraters Vishal Bharadwaj and Gulzar seemed to be more than enjoying each other's company.

Actresses Neetu Chandra and Sakshi Tanwar were present too.

Popular TV show Bade Acche Lagte Hain in which Tanwar plays the lead role, won four out of the five TV awards pesented at the do including Best Actress for her, Best Actor for Ram Kapoor and Best TV show (Drama).

Producer Ekta Kapoor and Sophie Choudry wore gowns with varying results.

Sujoy Ghosh won the Best Director award for Kahaani along side Anurag Basu (Barfi!).

Kahaani also won the Best Actress award for Vidya Balan.
