The Hollywood brigade take to the French Film Festival with style!

Actress Nicole Kidman's porcelain beauty lit up the Cannes Film Festival red carpet as she arrived for the grand premiere of her new film, Grace of Monaco -- the fest's opening film.

Well, that and her ornate Armani gown that featured intricate bead and jewellery work.

Kidman was but one of the many Hollywood A-listers who graced the first day of the fest.

Threatening to steal leading lady Kidman's thunder at the film's premiere was former Gossip Girl actress and Mrs Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively turned heads in her maroon Gucci Premiere gown.

The thigh-high slit in the outfit showed off her famous pins.

In keeping with her age-defying sartorial stunts on the Cannes red carpet, Jane Fonda, 76, played to the gallery in her shimmery Ellie Saab couture gown.

The gorgeous Zoe Saldana went fo rminimalist elegance on the red carpet in a Victoria Beckham pleated gown with a floral detail, red lips, gold drop earrings and Louboutin heels.

This was the Avatar actress's first appearance as a face of L'Oréal.

The gorgeous French actress Audrey Tautou was a vision in her understated sheer gown as she arrived for the grand opening film at the fest.

French actress Adele Exarchopoulos, whose acting debut Blue Is The Warmest Colour won the Palme d'Or -- the highest award at Cannes -- last year, was also in attendance. 

Fashion model Karlie Kloss shows off her sheer outfit on the red carpet.

American reality television star and model Kendall Jenner, also present at the do, upped the glam quotient in her monochrome Chanel gown and Chopard rings.

Award-winning director Alfonso Cuaron, whose space film Gravity scooped up quite a few prominent awards earlier this year, was at the opening ceremony too.

He is seen here listening to Master of Ceremony actor Lambert Wilson, along with actress Chiara Mastroianni.
