Though he is yet to sign on the dotted line, Varun Dhawan is in talks with Amazon Prime Video for a role in the Indian spin-off of their global espionage series, Citadel.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci lead the cast for the international version of the series.

The Indian Citadel will be directed by Raj and DK, whose Web series The Family Man has re-defined the OTT space in India.

The director duo is currently helming another series for Amazon, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi.

How far have the negotiations between Varun and Amazon gone?

"Pretty far," a source informs Subhash K Jha. "Varun is keen to be part of Citadel. The only point of contention is the price he is asking."

Meanwhile, the international version of Citadel -- with Priyanka and Richard Madden -- has begun shooting in London and will air from March 17, 2022.
