Elton JohnHere's one guy who is no hurry to get married.

Elton John now denies reports that he is planning to marry longtime partner David Furnish, mentions People magazine. The magazine quotes John, 56, as saying, "David and I are in favour of gay marriage but have no plans to get married."

The news follows the British Parliament's debates to legalise same sex marriages. There have been news of sex marriages in San Francisco and in New York's New Paltz. Most recently, talk show host Rosie O'Donnell married partner Kelli Carpenter.

John is quoted as saying, "I was on the fence about it for a while. I've been married before [to Renate Blauel in Sydney, Australia, 1984]. I thought, 'Why would I want to get married again?'"

He adds, "I'm totally for it [same sex marriage]. In this day and age, if people who want to make a life commitment can't have protection, then we live in a pretty sick world."

He added: "We're definitely going to do it when it gets passed. I would like to commit myself to David. I already have in my mind anyway."
